Incredible White Western Electric 202 - "D" Handset Mount!

This wonderful working example of 1920s design is sure to fit into your period decorating scheme. In my opinion, the Western Electric "D" mount is a masterpiece. The smooth curves, and flowing lines of this fantastic phone give it an elegant appearance that has been unsurpassed in subsequent designs. These lines are further highlighted by this white version

Although the 202 was never produced in white, we think you'll agree, it should have been. This 202 is been upgraded with a modern network in the base that eliminates the need for a separate subset. Due to space limitations in the chassis, there is no ringer internally, although external ringers are readily available. The handset is the vintage E-1 model that was introduced in the 1920s.

This 202 dates from the early 1930s and it has a No 5 dial with an excellent numeric porcelain dial plate that shows virtually no wear. The phone has been completely disassembled, carefully stripped, and then expertly refinished with a beautiful white high gloss finish. The bakelite handset has been painted white using the very same materials and procedures implemented by the phone companies so many years ago.

As a finishing touch, a new white cloth covered handset cord, and a white modular line cord have been added to this classic. All components have been fully overhauled and tested to ensure that they will function properly both now, and in the years to come.

This wonderful piece of history carries a one year parts and labour warranty subject to our standard terms and conditions.

This is a great opportunity to own a fantastic piece of fully functional classic technology.

Optional Dials for the 202

Number 6 - Default - The last technology jump for 3 inch dials. A smooth return and light weight for dialing highlight this choice. It is sturdily built and very realiable.

Number 5 - The predominant dial of the 40's and 50's was replaced by the number 6 for a more univeral fit. The number 5 dial features a "whiir" sound upon its return and a good weight for dialing.

Number 4 - This is the first 5 contact, 3 inch dial. The real joy of the dial lies in the highly sought after "clickity-clack" sound that was eilinated with the introduction of the number 5. What was eliminated from cutsomer complaints, is now one of the features that collectors look for most in hunting out the vintage phones.

This is a great opportunity to own a fantastic piece of fully functional classic technology.
