Fabulous!!!The Stromberg Carlson 1243 is a great example of 1940s design. Introduced as a direct competitor to the Western/Northern Electric 302, the 1243 contains the ringer and induction coil within the phone thereby eliminating the need for a separate subscriber set or bell box that was common in earlier phones. The RRRING of this phone is a real attention grabber that will bring back memories of yesteryear!
Stromberg Carlson was a major telephone manufacturer with it's head office located in Rochester, New York. They produced not only subscriber sets, but also telephone switching equipment, and home electronics such as radios and televisions.This Model 1243 has a diecast metal housing. The phone has a new white high gloss finish that accentuates the elgant lines of the phone. White was not an original release by Stromberg Carlson but we feel the white allows the unique art deco design to really shine through. We have taken one step further with this one adding brass tips to the handset and adding a brass fingerwheel, the end result is spectacular! The bakelite handset has been profeesionally painted using the very same materials and procedures implemented by the original phone companies of yesteryear, and the Automatic Electric dial has been meticulously overhauled to ensure that it will give years of troublefree service. This phone has been completely tested and is ready to plug into modern phone lines.As an added bonus, the phone comes with new matching white cloth covered line and handset cords.
