The Northern Electric No. 1 was a designed and made in Canada response to Western Electric's Model 302. It's electrically similar, but the case is much wider when viewed from the front, giving it a more substantial appearance. It was manufactured from the late 30s to the late 40s.
The No. 1 is normally found with a standard F1 handset and #5 or #6 dial that were common on other Northern Electric products of the time. A large number were also produced with a British Post Office (B.P.O.) type dial with chromed fingerwheel.
This painted No. 1 has a number 5 dial with an alphanumeric dial plate. The dial is finished off with a beautiful polished fingerwheel. The phone has been completely disassembled, carefully stripped, and then expertly painted with a beautiful royal blue high gloss finish. The F1 handset was then lovingly polished to bring out an unparalleled high gloss finish.
As a finishing touch, a blue cloth handset cord, and a matching modular line cord has been added to this classic. All components have been fully overhauled and tested to ensure that they will function properly both now, and in the years to come.
