Through the years Northern Electric made many different phones, but perhaps none is a distinctive as the Uniphone series that was manufactuered in the 1940s and 50s. The classic pyramidal lines of this unique telephone make instantly identifiable, and allow it to fit easily into your period decorating scheme.
Uniphone models were produced for many different applications including local battery and common battery service. The No 2 Uniphone, for instance, is a common battery wall telephone that is fully compatible with the telephone lines of today. The No 5 Uniphone, by contrast, is a local battery, dialless deskset that was designed for use with a magneto subset.This Uniphone is a No 2 wall phone that is brown in color. The brown cloth handset cord is original to the phone and features a very rare NU handset also in brown. It has been professionally buffed to bring out the original high gloss sheen. The dial fingerwheel has a beautiful chrome shine and a near perfect red alphanumeric dial plate.
