Parts For This Phone

Automatic Electric were the first North American company to manufacture a self contained deskset. The result were the Automatic Electric 2 and 12. Both phones shared the same dial and housing but the receiver is where the difference lies. The AE2 uses a traditional inductor coil in the base of the phone whereas the AE12 uses an inductive coil receiver unit and does not have an inductor coil.

This phone here is a number 2. The unmistakable profile of this phone is great example of the evolution of the deskset. The bakelite shell has been lovingly buffed back up to its original gloss and sheen. The dial has been disassembled, then cleaned, lubricated and timed perfectly. The original type 34 receiver shows some wear and tear on the caps but otherwise is in great condition.

This phone has been tested and works on modern lines.
