This North Electric Galion Deskphone was introduced during the 1940s as a direct competitor to the Western Electric 302. During the early years of production the body of these phones were made from metal. This was changed in later years to bakelite. North Electric made their own dial for these phones, although they are often found with an Automatic Electric dial. Western Electric manufactured the internal network. The practice of sourcing parts from different manufacturers was common among many of phone producers, although North Electric actually manufactured most of the components for their phones in their factory in Galion Ohio. North Electric manufactured many phones through the years. It is perhaps best known for the Ericofon that it produced under license during the 1960s. This phone is an early model metal body Galion. It has been carefully stripped and then given a new high gloss finish that not only looks fantastic, but also has great durability. The Automatic Electric dial has be cleaned lubricated and adjusted to original manufacturer specs. The original Bakelite North Electric handset has been lovingly buffed to bring our it's original hIgh gloss sheen. As a finishing touch, a new cloth covered handset cord, and a modular line cord has been added to this classic. All components have been fully overhauled and tested to ensure that they will function properly both now, and in the years to come.
